Our Furniture Restoration Process

Hand Stripping

Initial stage which involves inspecting furniture to determine the best method to hand strip, dependant upon the material the furniture is made from and whether it's veneered or solid wood.

Sanding

Sanding is carefully done by hand or machine and the correct grades of sanding paper are used to obtain an optimal finish.

Staining

Staining is done by careful selection of the appropriate stain dependant on customer's preference as to colour, shade and desired effect.

Sealing

By spraying clear coats to seal in stain or to protect wood, sealing is used to enhance natural grain, also to fill grain to
desired grain exposure.

Colouring

Sealed furniture will be sanded smooth and the final shading will be spray painted to complete the final sprayed colour.

Finishing

Final clear coats will be applied (unless a solid paint is chosen) with a preferred gloss level during the finishing coats. (matt, satin, semi- gloss or full gloss).
